Welcome, my name is Blandine Cummins and I am a Qualified Level 4 CPCAB counsellor based in Jersey. I offer online sessions in English or French as well as face to face counselling support.
As far back as I can remember, I’ve been very curious about how other people see the world. As a young person, I started by immersing myself in music and writing songs to better understand the thoughts, emotions and reactions of others. Later on I studied psychology and counselling which helped me understand myself better.
I have always been fascinated by the possibility that the awareness of the differences between people may be a way to unite us, instead of pulling us apart. I realised that my journey towards self-awareness and acceptance of my own differences could have benefits for, as well as satisfying my curiosity about, other people.
Being a therapist is a way for me to fulfil my own need to experience safe and authentic relationships with others, whilst at the same time supporting them in their search for happiness.
As a counsellor my role is to provide space and guidance to help you on your journey of self-discovery; to enable you to examine your life and make new, meaningful choices within it.
In my Counselling practice in St Helier Jersey, I can help you in the following areas:
These are just some of the things I can work through with you, but I can support you with whatever you are finding difficult.
Counselling isn't about giving you solutions or advice, but empowering you to make your own choices.
"Life is difficult. This is a great truth, one of the greatest truths." (Scott Peck)
Making that decision to start counselling is often a daunting one. The fact you are looking at this site means that you are at least ready to consider whether it is the right path for you.
Ultimately, it can provide the opportunity to enrich your relationships; both with those you care about and, most importantly, with yourself.
I am a person centred therapist, which means I have an empathetic, non-judgemental approach and provide emotional support. I offer a chance to reflect on the difficulties or problems you are experiencing in a safe and confidential environment, with someone from outside your day-to-day life.
Both short term and open-ended therapy is available depending on your needs. I like to be as flexible as possible to allow you to find your own personal requirement. Therefore, I do not insist on a weekly commitment or on any set number of sessions.
Together we can explore your situation in a way that leads to fresh perspectives and perhaps a new understanding of yourself.
Counselling offers a confidential and safe space, where you can openly explore your feelings without the risk of being
judged. It offers the opportunity for you to look at what is really going on in your life and to help make sense of any confusion or turmoil you may be experiencing. It provides a space where unhelpful behaviour patterns can be safely challenged and potentially changed to gain a deeper sense of freedom and control over your life.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions, or to arrange an appointment.
You can also call me on 07797919153 if you would prefer to leave a message or speak to me first. I am happy to discuss any queries or questions you may have prior to arranging an appointment.
All enquires are usually answered within 24 hours, and all contact is strictly confidential.
Sessions usually take place on a weekly basis at Bourne House, Francis Street, St Helier, Jersey JE2 4QE.
There is no obligation to continue with counselling, but if you feel you would like to, each session would last for 55 minutes and cost £60.
The number of sessions can vary according to what you’d like to work through. I’m also happy to discuss payment with clients and can offer student discounts.
Note that if you want to cancel an appointment I require 48 hours' notice; otherwise you will still need to pay for any sessions missed.
I accept payment in cash, by cheque or by bank transfer and Sessions are payable at the time of the appointment.
